Captains of Industry
BIOGRAPHY
Recording project of Randy Johnson, currently a resident of Durham, NC. The first Captains of Industry recordings of earnest were for the 2009 RPM album Certificate of Achievement (recorded in Charlotte, NC). A diverse affair, this album was followed up by a number of cuts in the fall of the fall of 2009, including the Starfall EP, which featured a more wall of sound-esque approach.
2010 brought about the new RPM album #f8811d (recorded in Lynchburg, VA), an affair concerning sinister radios, and continuing with the wall of sound based approach used on the Starfall EP.
Dropping the silly monicker, Randy recorded Experimental Film while in Philadelphia and then returned for RPM 2012 with the surf-esque Manete Fortis

Certificate of Achievement(2009)
A mix of ambient soundscapes and traditional indie pop. My first album ever. Also features odes to Nobuo Uematsu, Jonsi from Sigur Ros, and everyone's favorite tweedy fellow: John Hodgman
#f8811d(2010)
Paranoia. Who's listening? Every note, chosen precisely. Perhaps not the correct note or the note you would have imagined, but the notes that were chosen nonetheless. A swirling voice chimes in, reminding you of a time long since passed, but altogether near. Eons come together as a moment in time. Colors collapse as sound, and all is energy. Waves crash from the speakers and prepare for an assault on the sensory. The mind blanks as the frequency and amplitude modulation reverberate through the brain. Somewhere, the radio turns on. A hiss of static the likes of which you've only imagined rings out and takes control.
Manete Fortis(2012)
What started as a surf album for the great white north eventually turned into an abstract affair about drinking with a music legend, warnings against werewolf killings, micronations, generic fantasy, and an armageddon causing a nuclear winter.
